The Werner Cyprus is my favorite all-around paddle for sea kayaking. I started with low angle paddles, but as my skills developed I found the high angle design more versatile. The blade is mid-size(610 sq cm), meaning you can get enough bite to move out quickly, but you can also paddle comfortably all day without overtiring. The blades move smoothly through the water with very little turbulence. The performance core and carbon fiber make it very light (723g/25.5oz for my 210cm)- even after extended paddling the paddle never feels heavy in my hands. The adjustable ferrule allows you totweak the blade offset angle to adjust for different conditions, or when you just feel like mixing it up a bit. Previous bugs in older versions have been thoroughly fixed - the assembled 2 pieces now feel like a solid 1-piece paddle with no slippage or movement, and there's an insert decal on the inside edge where it's less likely to wear off. Now if it only came with reflective tape ...
