Overview

Enjoy a three-hour guided stand up paddle trip of one of the most scenic and historic sections of the Potomac River. This trip is designed for people with limited or no paddling experience. You'll enjoy calm water, a stable Versa Board (sit down or stand up), and quality instruction.

All equipment for the tour is included. You'll be provided with a Liquid Logic Versa Board, a convertible paddle, and a personal floatation device. The ultra-stable Versa board supports paddlers up to 300 lbs and is the perfect beginner board. It allows you to paddle standing up or, if you wish, you can sit down and use it as a sit-on-top kayak. So, if you get uncomfortable or wish for some variety along the way, you can sit comfortably and continue paddling.

At the start, our professional instructors and guides will teach you all about stand up paddle boards, how to paddle with correct technique, and how to enjoy your time on the water safely. From there, we'll set out on the water. You'll experience truly unique views of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the Tidal Basin, and many other significant historical points of interest. No crowds out here!

We will interpret the history behind those beautiful monuments and bridges as we paddle. You'll also learn the rich history of the Georgetown area, as we circumnavigate Washington Island (tide dependent). Catch a glimpse of heron, kingfisher, see and learn about the many other aspects of our river ecosystem. All equipment is included! See below for details.
