We are pleased to announce that Potomac Paddlesports has acquired the mid-Atlantic's oldest canoe and kayak store. After 34 years, Mr. Brad Reardon sold Springriver's Rockville location to us on March 8. Thank you for your many years of service to the paddling community, Mr. Reardon. It is a great honor to inherit your legacy of expert service and selection as well as the good will and good friends that you and your team have built up over many years in the industry. With our prior retail experience and quality programs, we are fully prepared to accept the torch and run with it! The store is currently undergoing renovations in preparation for a "Grand Re-opening" sometime in April. We will be open during most of the renovations. Register Your Teen For Whitewater Camp!

Rather than register your child for a summer camp that lets them "try" kayaking, why not empower them to become a whitewater kayaker? Our campers learn to paddle in Class III whitewater, video editing, and how to appreciate their natural surroundings and each other. Space is limited. Click here LINK to for all the details. Check out the clip from Craig and Scott's recent session on the MD Chute below. Trop and I ran into these cats out there on this cold Sunday a few weeks back. As usual, it's always great to see our students on the water and we never cease to be amazed at how fast they progress from their first whitewater lesson just six months ago! Sweet guys!

In 2006, Potomac Paddlesports made a sizable contribution to the Potomac Riverkeeper for the specific purpose of purchasing water monitoring equipment. These funds came directly from our instructional revenue. Learn more about the equipment that was purchased here LINK. The Potomac Riverkeeper is the organization in the Potomac watershed that deals with enforcment issues head on. Please consider joining this small group of people dedicated to restoring and protecting the river. Learn more at the Potomac Riverkeeper's website here LINK. The Hand of God

The "Hand of God" is a rescue technique that we employ during our whitewater lessons. It takes a capable and conscientious instructor to let go of their paddle and roll a student up with their bare hands. Click the video below and watch Potomac Paddlepsorts' instructor Nejc Poberaj execute this maneuver just before a student hits the wall at S-Turn. If you miss a roll, we'll be there for you!

First it was the Level 1 Package. Then it was the Level 2 Package. But no, that wasn't enough either. They had to become certified instructors too! And now, they've gone out and started their own river running club! All those practice clinics sure paid off!
